Having supported this event for the last 2 years, we were delighted when Llamau chose Total Sound Solutions to provide A.V. support for this years Big Sleep out. As part of “The worlds biggest sleepout” this year, the stakes were higher and we needed to make sure that this years event was the biggest and the best one yet. 

The grounds of Cardiff Castle were chosen this year to accommodate the numbers projected, who would brave the elements and sleep out on a cold, wet and windy December night. The event was one of 52 mass sleep out events happening around the world on the same night. World’s Big Sleep Out Cardiff was attended by over 400 people and raised £121,000 to help homeless and displaced people in Wales and throughout the world.

With some huge acts performing on the night, we wanted to make sure that the brave participants, were at least rewarded with some top class entertainment. With acts such as Charlotte Church, ShellyAnn, and Matt Pritchard to name a few, performing and presenting during the night, we rolled out our 8m x 6m trailer stage, with our P3 LED screen on the back and sides of the structure. With a full NEXO pa system, along with a full lighting rig, we engineered throughout the night, switching from poetry readings, choirs, to vocalists to a 25 piece orchestra, all before the lights went off and people tried to sleep.

Along with the performance stage, we also powered up a food market which helped to fill the stomachs of those braving the conditions. Our tower lights and generators ensured that the event had a consistent and save supply throughout the night as well as illuminating the grounds for save access.
